Marriage
Church law requires that Catholic weddings take place in either the parish of the bride or the groom. Exceptions may be made for a good reason. Couples wishing to be married at St. Columba-St. Patrick should contact Fr. McGrath at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date.
Reconciliation
Confessions are heard at 4:15 PM before the Saturday vigil Mass each week or by making an appointment with our pastor, Fr. Mickey McGrath. The Catholic Church especially encourages the sacrament to be celebrated during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Extra opportunities of celebrating this beautiful Sacrament then. Please take regular advantage of this celebration of God's mercy!
Anointing of the Sick
This sacrament is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, especially near the time of death. It used to be reserved to very late in life and was known as Extreme Unction. It is for those who are seriously ill, and it can be administered to the same person a number of times, perhaps even during the same sickness. Please call the parish office if there is a need to administer this Sacrament at home or in the hospital.
Pastoral Care of the Sick
If you are aware of a parishioner who is in need of pastoral visit or would like Communion brought to them at home, please let us know and we will arrange for a visit. Fr. Mickey and Deacon David sincerely desire to regularly visit and bring Communion to the homebound and those in hospitals and nursing homes. However, there are also other members of the parish who help us with this ministry.
If you or a family member are anticipating surgery and would like to be anointed, please speak to Fr. Mickey before the surgery so that, if you wish, you may be prayed over and receive the Anointing of the Sick.
